Happy Birthday to ME…yesterday

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Yesterday was my birthday.  Only my ex in laws remembered.  I got the usual "bunch of drunks" phone call…I even went over to my Dad’s house for a while and he didn’t say anything.  That’s ok.  Eddie and I went to an Irish pub and I got a free dessert.  We also got prime rib, sauteed mushrooms and garlic smashed potatoes.  So yummy!  It was the special and only $10.99.  Hell, I was gonna have shepherd’s pie, but his was only a dollar more…and shepherd’s pie is ground beef!
Eddie’s new bed arrived today.  When the delivery guys arrived, they left the door open for a while…then we couldn’t find the cats!  Eddie and I put the sheets on the new bed then looked for the cats.  They were hiding under MY bed!  Of course.

Music

Monday, June 20th, 2005

I’ve been applying for jobs a lot recently and have found that organ music from Pipedreams helps keep me calm and focused.  Check it out.
The cats did morning games this morning…running across my feet all night.  Such great cats!
I’m looking for a customer service job somewhere in Hampton Roads…preferably on the Southside.  You’d think this would be an easy task…but NO…the jobs that are available are low paying or with fly-by-night companies.  I can’t believe it’s taken this long to find something.
Well, having this stupid eye thing doesn’t help I’m sure.  I’m "allowed" to drive, but truthfully I’m a bit scared to get out on the big open road.  The drive to church was scary enough.  I didn’t let Eddie see it, but I was pretty much petrified most of the way there.  I wish this big black blob would phrickin go away!
PopPop is in the hospital…has been there for a week…and I just found out about it last night.  I called and he sounds good…just wants to go home.  He has congestive heart failure with fluid on the lungs.  I’m glad I was able to send the ex up to see him…perhaps for one last time.
Well, I need to go find a job.

My first blog

Saturday, June 18th, 2005

This is my first blog.  Everybody else is doing it, so why not?
I recently suffered a detached retina and had it fixed.  I understand it’s gonna take time, but I’m out of a job and can’t see to drive very far.  It’s very frustrating.
I recently sent my ex a plane ticket so he/she could go home to see Dad (with congestive heart failure).  Now all I’m hearing is how hard it will be to get from Pittsburg to Huntingdon.  Well, fella, I got you from phrickin Florida to Pennsylvania.  You can at least be grateful about that.  I didn’t HAVE to spend that money…I could have gotten myself some clothes or something.
So….um….what else?
I’ve taken on the job of updating my church’s website.  I have a friend who is helping because I don’t know the technical aspects of it.  I need a web host that isn’t too expensive (I’m gonna pay for it myself) and that is relatively dummy proof.  If you have suggestions, please let me know.
That’s it for now.  I’m gonna go start the dishwasher and laundry and go take a nap…I’ve been up since 5:00 am (as phrickin usual)
Have a great weekend!
